Ps.I Love You Penang

I was born in Johore, raised in Penang till I was about 4 years old before we moved to KL for good. School holidays were spent here and there, between visiting Daddy's hometown in Bukit Mertajam and Mummy's in Negeri Sembilan.

Our relatives and family friends are mostly living on the Pearl of The Orient. We have pretty much toured the entire island and mainland, so when we (Fats and I) got older.. we went there solely to visit our elders. Only this time, with Turkish around, we roamed around like proper tourists and I loved every minute of it!

Penang is grrrrrrrrreat!

My childhood memories were refreshed by going to Kek Lok Si, Dhammikarma Burmese Temple, The Reclining Buddha of Wat Chaiyamangkalaram Temple *take a deep breath*, Benevolence House of Kuan Yin, Penang Butterfly Farm, had breakfasts by old wet markets and crossing over to Butterworth by ferry!

We didn't make it to Penang Hill
The funicular tickets were sold out hours ahead

Lanterns all the way to be lit on Chinese New Year

I'm a Buddhist devotee, who try to keep up with my religion

The Pagoda stands more than 100 feet on Crane Hills

Familiar background?
This is my brother when he was 1 year plus ;)

I was nearly 6 years old, and weighed like an elephant LOL
(taken at the bottom of Kek Lok Si)

Vibrant colours and its unique architecture
makes it an ideal place for photography

The Reclining Buddha that symbolises enlightment, Nirvana

OMG. I looked like a boy!!
(coincidentally, we took a 1-day tour too)

And for first times, we visited Fort Cornwallis and Khoo Kongsi (clan house belonging to the Khoo bloodline). Both attractions were very interesting *thumbs up!*

The fort was built more than 2 centuries ago

Remember Francis Light "cheated" the Sultan of Kedah?
It's all in this scroll LOL

Generations down the line, they made barrels like this

To be continued..

Penang has such a charm! Every one loves Penang. Foreigners know Penang more than any other states in Malaysia (besides KL).

I remember Penang for its food, and beaches :)
