Yesterday we caught a bit of the news on TV. Turned out, the Miss World 2008 crown goes to Miss Russia, Kseniya Sukhinova. The beauty pagent winner is 21 years old, hails from Nizhnevartovsk, in the northwest of Siberia. I really thought she looked quite cute while Turkish said she doesn't look Russian. I think he meant to say not like the average bitches in Moscow.

The remaining 5 finalists were asked what quality they thought, would qualify them for the Miss World title and Miss Russia replied in a serious tone, “I want to help people, and if I win the crown I will be able to do it better.” The answer was from her heart and soul which over the jury.

2nd runner-up went to Miss Gabriel Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago, and Miss Parvathy Omanakuttan of India was named the 1st runner-up. Goodbye to the rest of them who were probably just as deserving, except the judges didn't think their combination of beauty, intelligence, poise and glam were enough. But I'm sure they will return to their countries and continue to serve/help in every way they can too.
I checked out Miss World's official site and browsed through some of the other 108 international contestants. Mana dia tu, Miss Malaysia? Hehehehe I was surprised she was one of the first names on the top. Miss Wincci Soo (the spelling of her name looks weird, maybe my mind is set with Vincci shoes). She looks alright, I guess. I read the Q&A with her and I must say, she is truly a Malaysian.
Q. If you were stranded on a desert island what one item could you not be without?
A. My Handphone, fully charged.

You don't wonder why Miss Russia won. The blue-eyed blondie answered "Matchbox, hardly one can survive without fire". But Malaysia Boleh! Don't get me wrong, I ain't poking fun of our homegirl! Sounds like something every other kaki would answer (I know many people say they would bring the gadget with them but Miss Wincci Soo reinforced it with "fully charged" *roflmao*). But then again, Miss Germany and Miss France answered handphone too.
All these Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, Miss This and That are very biased. Beauty and brains may be main components but come on, half of the contestants lack the latter. Fortunately their flawless appearances and perfect figures, anyone can forgive their stupidity. Do you think they will let someone with an IQ soaring 160 but with a trainwreck face appear on stage in front of a billion TV viewers?
No. Nuh-uh.
Not like I want to watch them too LOL
I'm going to continue browsing the rest of the contestants with Turkish. We are having a gala being the post and unofficial critics :P

in a deserted island ....... there is no mobile signal ... fully charged also no use
sometimes ahh.. even when i go inside toilet also, the signal bar went zero already , wonder what can we do on a stranded island , but then again, she can always play some sudoku on her mobile and double use the reflecting screen to check on her look.
