Yesterday was very tiring but there isn't any reason for us to stay indoors today, not even to rest! :)
We went to visit a temporary exhibition at Istanbul Modern Art Museum. "In Praise Of Shadows" has been around for months but we only got to it this afternoon. The exhibition projects the traditions of shadow puppets combined with contemporary art form produced by many great minds from around the world. We were very surprised to see a huge display of cinema history, cartoon/animation and shadow theatre.

You know how I always say everywhere we went, photography was always allowed and no one had problems with it? I guess this would be our first camera denial experience! No photography in Istanbul Modern. I'm not sure why.. but then again, who can truly understand rules of contemporary times right? *wink*
Nothing can stop me though. I am lawless (winning statement made by Tolga LOL).

Another temporary (photography) exhibition by Peter Müller Peter entitled "Pureblood Reflections"
I was surprised that there is a cinema at the lower floor, and the international films titles are in conjunction to the current exhibition theme; "Who Pulls The Strings" : Dolls (Japan), Strings (Denmark), Flight of the Red Balloon (France), Who Killed The Shadows (Turkey), Puppet Shorts (3 segments), and Being John Malkovich (USA).
Hahahahahaaha and we watched Being John Malkovich.

Nice, private cinema for less than 10 spectators
I don't think it's only because John Cusack plays a puppeteer dealing with his unusual life and involvement with 2 different women who are also very unusual. After watching, I realised this movie is most perfect for the cinema theme because the plot involves issues in abstract mind philosophy such as the nature of self and consciousness, the mind-body dichotomy, and sensory perception.

hey, despite Turkey being a modern city, do you receive stares when you walk in the city with sleeveless blouse? Or do women/people there not as conservative as those over HERE (you know where la) in terms of attire?
