Made In Miniaturk

Tolga finally agreed to visit Miniaturk today! The first miniature park in Istanbul was opened in 2003 but my boyfriend was never really interested in it. Hahahahaa he gave in when I insisted for us to go there after seeing Julienne's picture at Madurodam. Oooohhhh.. I must say Miniaturk is a damn cool place to go to!

Godzilla invasion in a Dutch town LOL

3TL/RM6.70 per ticket and unlimited educational fun! ;)

There are over 100 models created in 1:25 scale of iconic buildings and places located all over Turkey. The park is huge! 40,000sqm of open space lined with individual models of many cultures and civilization, even some of the famous ones which were lost/destroyed. On a closer look, the architectural works were delicately crafted to perfection. The elements resemble almost identical to the original design, ranging from 3000-year history from Antiquity to Byzantium, from Seljuks to the Ottoman Empire and into the latest modern day megastructures.

Hahahahahaa common sight of Tolga studying the layout of a place

Mausoleum of Mevlana in Konya (and very unattractive background of a crane in sight)

This is the hi-tech part which I really like and comes in all languages..
When you place the barcode of your ticket to the scanner, the audio-guide tells you all about the model

The Izmit Clock Tower built in 1901
Looks slightly crooked, eh? Hehehehe I think my hand wasn't straight

Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Ankara which we have yet to visit!

Aaaaahhhh.. the Ephesus which brought back fond memories ;)

Not everything was built so mini :P

The Zeus Temple which didn't survive.. built in 197-159 B.C

Traditional stone houses in Mardin!
Another city in Anatolia which we also have yet to visit :)

Aspendos Theatre in Antalya which is still in very good condition today
Tolga told me they hold concerts in the amphitheatre.. makes me wanna dive in LOL

On the bridge behind the Dolmabahçe Palace.. you might spot someone in pink :P

Tolga and I *giggles*

We got a rough idea of all the touristic must-see, especially on the Anatolia. I kinda went mad LOL Because of its richness in history, there are so much that were left behind by the ancient people and from the events which took place. Through time, I'm sure we'll try to visit these miniature models in its original size!
