Super Legislation

I don't remember how this apostille matter came up before/after our graduation last year. I can vaguely recall but one thing's for sure.. mixed emotions to the max. Quite a number of us were concerned, some curious, others confused and many clueless without a solid understanding of what it really is.

Yours truly was concerned, though rather clueless too LOL

Kacang entered a post entitled Dilemma With Apostille earlier in February which was pretty informative. An apostille is a tiny piece of colourful paper certificate issued by a designated authority in a country, where a treaty called the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement for Legalization of Foreign Public Documents applies.

You can check which 98 countries are in the treaty.

Let's say Russia is in right? It may issue the apostille certificate to your Russian degree (affixed to the back of the original document) and it'll be automatically considered 'valid' and 'acceptable' in all the other countries. It's beneficial/necessary for anyone who would like to work abroad in future, not just in Malaysia you see.

Only the country which you graduated in can certify your degree, that's why it's more clever to get it done before you leave for good. You don't want to spend money/trouble later just for this.

Anyhoos, all my batchmates handed theirs in immediately and only recently, I handled mine. After 1 month of process.. I got it back today. It's really quite impressive.

Adds some character to my degree and mark sheets :)

Convention de la Haye du 5 octobre 1961

I'm so happy that I received it today. Come next Wednesday, Turkish and I can leave for Istanbul without having to worry about it. One important task off the list, now I can breath better. I hate paperworks and authorities/bodies that work like handicaps.

Word is.. you gotta do what you gotta do.

So be it.

Sigh, Moscow and its infamously nerve-wreckingly inefficient and moronic red tapes. There I said it.And I think one can seriously run out of vocabs to even try to describe the many amazing ways they work. But well, we can always try... good to hear you have some 'burden' lifted off :)

You guys should think about having it done. I asked a couple of other foreign friends who graduated with me and before me if they did apostille.. turned out all positive.

And yeahhh, 1 month at least. Unless you pay more I guess.. like usual *rolls my eyes*

I guess so but sometimes it gets your blood boiling until you want to break their windows.

We're so on the same frequency, YannMay.
