Psoriasis

Quote of the day : "Look at his weight, he could have everything (disease)" - Dr.Grabovskaya

Before I start to talk about my day, I'm beginning to wonder why did I choose a specialisation which presents patients that might ruin my appetite. I don't know why we got all of them in one day. It's not that I'm complaining but..

.. I guess it disturbs my psychological aspects of the patients/people in general. Why would anyone let him/herself looking like that?? I mean, isn't it freaking obvious that abnormal something is growing.

So *Igor thinks, "Nahhh.. it's prolly nothing". The next day or so, Igor sees they have multipled. Igor still thinks, "Nahhhh.. they will go away" and when Igor finally looks at himself naked in the mirror, he says, "Ooohhh, fuck" because his entire body is a hideous wallpaper of red marks and whatever's oozing out.

This is the least revealing picture of Igor
You REALLY won't wanna see him with pants off

When Igor took off his shirt and pants for examination, my skin was crawling. OMG. I think he was the worst sore for my eyes ever since I started. The sight of his thighs sent me shivers down my spine. I don't know about my colleagues but I could tell some of them swallowed pretty hard.

Psoriasis is a non-contagious skin disease. It causes inflammation on the skin, and depending on which type of Psoriasis strikes, clinical pictures would differ. The cause is unknown but there are several factors such as genetics, family history, immune mediated (body reacts and accelerates the growth of skin cells) and lifestyle believed to aggrevate it. Igor for example, happened to have consumed cheap piss whiskey a 2 months ago. What an idiot.

Simultaneously, a decent-dressed man in his late 50s checked in for recurrent Psoriasis. He had slight flare on his knuckles. No biggie but because they itch, he needed professional help. Yes, unfortunately Psoriasis is a life-long condition that can only be suppressed by treatment. Avoidance of potential triggers will help. I hope Igor learned his lesson and keep a reminder not to prolong the severity the next time it returns.

*Igor is not his real name, I keep patients' information confidential ;)
